Point Lobos State Natural Reserve needs your help.
Come join California State Parks and other volunteers at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve every 3rd Monday and 3rd Wednesday of the month to support projects that aim to restore and preserve native plants and communities. Volunteer projects include removing non-native invasive plants such as ice plant, Cape ivy, velvet grass, sweet alyssum, and poison hemlock, planting of native coastal scrub species, and maintaining trails.
Meet us at the Whalers Cove Parking Lot. Be sure to notify the kiosk staff that you are attending the volunteer work day for complementary admission.
Please be sure to bring a mask, a snack, and a water and follow all social distancing guidelines while at the work day. Please wear close-toed, sturdy shoes and appropriate clothing for physical work in rocky, uneven terrain, rain or shine, and breezy to windy conditions.
We will provide tools and training. All ages welcome. No experience or commitment necessary.
Contact us at volunteer.monterey@parks.ca.gov or 831-574-9008 for more information about Carmel River State Beach volunteer programs and additional opportunities throughout State Parks Monterey District.
