Our ideal GFW volunteer Cook loves making home cooked meals. Menus, recipes, and ingredients are provided for you to make amazing home cooked meals in our commercial kitchen and serve them to our homeless and housing insecure guests. We have various shifts available, especially Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. 

To become a regular GFW volunteer you are required to complete a Volunteer Application and Live Scan (fingerprinting). We ask that you wear a mask in congregate areas.

GFW is looking for someone to support our kitchen crew. The Food Transport role is critical to our nutritious food service and includes pick-up from the Food Bank and Smart and Final. Note that some of it is heavy to lift. You will need an SUV or Van or you can use our van if you have a clean driving record. We need someone Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for Smart and Final and Tuesday mornings for the Food Bank.  Maximum time commitment two hours. 

Our ideal GFW Hostess loves to greet women with a smile, craft the perfect coffee or the right tea to cream ratio. You find joy in ensuring women feel spoiled. Various shifts are available Monday through Friday.

Do you love making dishes shine? Getting up to your elbows in hot water? Join our kitchen crew! 

Shifts vary but are typically Monday through Thursday 8 am to 2 pm and Friday 8 am to 10:00 am. 

GFW is looking for someone to support our clothes closet crew. The Clothing Transport role is critical to our clothes closet. We are well loved by our community and want to spread the love to other like-minded organizations. This role involves picking up donated items which are beyond our capacity and delivering them to other organizations. Note that some of it is heavy to lift. You will need an SUV, truck or Van or you can use our van if you have a clean driving record. Pick your day of the week!

Help GFW as a Dining Room Host!

Volunteers will greet guests, provide drinks, and oversee shower appointments and other activities in the GFW Dining Hall.

Mon-Thu: 7:50-11:30am, 11:15am-2:00pm and Fri: 8:00am-12:00pm

Volunteers will welcome guests and help with scheduling their activities for the day using the GFW case management system!
