Loaves, Fishes, and Computers is currently looking for dedicated individuals to help us create lasting change for local low-income individuals, families, and volunteers in our community.
By joining our Board of Directors, you will play a vital leadership role helping to shape LFC’s vision, mission, and direction for years to come. With a small group of other devoted volunteers, you will participate in developing and implementing organizational policies, fundraising and donor development, financial oversight, and community engagement. During your first 2 years on our board, you will also have the chance to take the lead in one or more nonprofit committees with goals related to program development and delivery, outreach and organizational development, or financial oversight.

Volunteer: Computer Refurbishing Technician

The Refurbishing Technician performs computer refurbishing for LFC. Duties include removing hard drives, building computers to set standards, install software, test computers, ensure documentation is recorded correctly, etc. Refurb Technician Volunteers will be trained by shadowing the Refurb Technician Lead.

Salary: N/A, this is a volunteer position.

Responsibilities:

Blow out donated computers (when applicable) Check components for wear Remove hardware from donated equipment ensuring it is stored in the proper location Following the computer build sheet, install the required equipment Must be able to identify a desktop/laptop by the type of chip or package sticker it has  and refurbish accordingly. Test all added components, install required drivers Image the computer, review and test functions before it is ready for Burn-In Complete the required documentation for each computer built Ensure all documents are properly adhered for each computer built. Work safely and with the safety of others in mind. Maintain a clean work space; vacuum, wipe down surfaces, empty trash cans as necessary.

Conduct regular inventories or materials to be purchased. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Volunteer: IT/Technical Support Technician

Salary:Volunteer Position


Position Description: Technical Support Technician helps LFC with client based tech support  by directly working with clients. A Tech Support Technician will diagnose the computer issue based off of client's description of symptoms. Will ensure that the repair form has been properly filled out before receiving client’s computer and after fixing it. Adheres to quality control procedures. Assists in other duties as needed.


Responsibilities:

Diagnosing computer related problems. Ensuring repair forms are properly filled out. Utilizing the local server to install software to new computer systems Testing Hardware; Printers Speakers, etc.  Following quality control procedures in order to complete the computer-refurbishing process. Perform other related duties as assigned.

A general understanding of Windows OS 7-10 Strong ability to troubleshoot various tech support issues and work independently or as part of a team as required. Good communication skills. Some College preferred but not required. A+ Certified (or in process of becoming A+ Certified) preferred but not required. Previous floor/shop experience preferred but not required.

Position Description: Technical Support Technician helps LFC with client based tech support  by directly working with clients. A Tech Support Technician will diagnose the computer issue based off of client's description of symptoms. Will ensure that the repair form has been properly filled out before receiving client’s computer and after fixing it. Adheres to quality control procedures. Assists in other duties as needed.


Responsibilities:

Diagnosing computer related problems. Ensuring repair forms are properly filled out. Utilizing the local server to install software to new computer systems Testing Hardware; Printers Speakers, etc.  Following quality control procedures in order to complete the computer-refurbishing process. Perform other related duties as assigned.
