Volunteer: Computer Refurbishing TechnicianThe Refurbishing Technician performs computer refurbishing for LFC. Duties include removing hard drives, building computers to set standards, install software, test computers, ensure documentation is recorded correctly, etc. Refurb Technician Volunteers will be trained by shadowing the Refurb Technician Lead. Salary: N/A, this is a volunteer position. Responsibilities: Blow out donated computers (when applicable) Check components for wear Remove hardware from donated equipment ensuring it is stored in the proper location Following the computer build sheet, install the required equipment Must be able to identify a desktop/laptop by the type of chip or package sticker it has and refurbish accordingly. Test all added components, install required drivers Image the computer, review and test functions before it is ready for Burn-In Complete the required documentation for each computer built Ensure all documents are properly adhered for each computer built. Work safely and with the safety of others in mind. Maintain a clean work space; vacuum, wipe down surfaces, empty trash cans as necessary.
