The Ciclovia team is seeking volunteers, including youth and adults. The King City Ciclovia will host its third-year event, offering the community an opportunity to engage with their neighbors and enjoy a closed street event filled with information, services, and recreational activities!

We’re looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to help us bring locals together by hosting fun and engaging community events at our hostel! We will provide the space—what we need is someone with creativity and organization to plan, promote, and bring these gatherings to life.

What you’ll do:

Plan events that connect with locals (game nights, workshops, cultural exchanges, etc.)

Promote events through social media, flyers, and word-of-mouth

Welcome guests and help create a warm, inclusive atmosphere

Coordinate with our team to ensure events run smoothly

Show how much you love the Monterey Bay! Save Our Shores coordinates dozens of cleanups along the Central Coast each year for Annual Coastal Cleanup Day.

This year on Saturday, September 21 they will be out all along the coast.

By participating, you will make a positive impact on our beautiful Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and prevent trash from entering the ocean. All cleanups take place from 9am-12pm, but it is suggested you show up fifteen minutes prior to get instructions.

Become a Sexual Assault Counselor with the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center!

The training spans over five weeks and is broken down into twelve sessions.

These sessions are scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays evenings with three of the sessions taking place on Saturdays (these are subject to change due to holidays observed by the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center).

At this time our Sexual Assault Counselor Training is a hybrid model consisting of in-person sessions and sessions via  Zoom. 

The Sexual Assault Counselor Training is a fifty-one hour state certified training facilitated by the Monterey County Rape Crisis Center.

During this training, advocates will be educated on crisis intervention, advocacy, resources in the community, and collaboration with other agencies, as well as best practices when supporting survivors of sexual assault, human trafficking, child abuse and their significant others.

ITNMontereyCounty is a provides 24/7, door-through-door transportation for seniors and visually impaired adults, supported by volunteer and part-time drivers. The organization is seeking board members to help guide strategy, ensure financial health, support fundraising, and act as ambassadors.

Ideal candidates bring skills in areas like finance, fundraising, community events, or strategic planning, or have connections to service areas and represented communities. Board service involves a small monthly time commitment, a meaningful annual contribution, and offers opportunities for leadership, professional growth, and deeper community connection.

Restorative Justice Partners, Inc. facilitates healing dialogues between crime victims and youth offenders, with cases referred by the Monterey County Probation Department and funded through the Juvenile Justice Crime Prevention Act. Their training covers restorative approaches to conflict, effective communication, mediation techniques, and victim impacts, while providing hands-on practice with experienced mediators to prepare participants to lead these conversations.

Two mediator trainings: August 22–23, 2025 in South County and September 26–27, 2025 in the Monterey area.

Participants must be 18+, attend both sessions, and pass a background check (fees reimbursed).

Training is free for students and seniors, $15 with a three-case commitment, or $1,000 with no commitment, and includes all materials and meals.

Every Wednesday, 5-13 volunteers and 3 professional gardeners work from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm to provide landscaping services along the world-famous Scenic Pathway that runs the length of Carmel Beach. You will be given a task like sweeping, trimming, and raking. You can stay an hour of 3 hours, it's up to you. You will make some great friends, get fresh air, and be an important part of making the Pathway pristine and beautiful. We have had over 170 weekly session in the last 3 1/2 years. Don't miss out on this great volunteer opportunity.

Are you ready to sprinkle a little love in your community and help Cake4Kids build the self-esteem of underserved youth? We have an online portal listing all cake requests from our agency partners. Each request contains details about the desired theme, type of dessert, and flavor, as well as delivery location, date, and time. You select a cake request, bake it at home, and deliver the finished sweets directly to the agency that placed the request. All volunteers must be at least 16 years old (18 to volunteer on your own), fill out a volunteer application, attend an online orientation, and be able to deliver Monday-Friday during business hours.

At Make-A-Wish, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. In order to tell the stories of these children, we are looking for photographers and videographers who can take videos on the day of the kids' wishes.

We are looking for skilled, experienced videographers who have their own equipment, and experience with video editing. When we have a wish that needs a videographer in your area, we will email our list to see who is available, and sign that videographer up to take pictures at the wish.

Wishes can be a whole range of activities from a dropoff of a new computer, a child receiving a new puppy, the grand opening of a backyard play structure, a press release for a book launch, or more. When the world reemerges from COVID, these could also include shopping sprees, party wishes, wishes to be something special for a day - you name it!

Please send us a link to any video gallery where we can get a sense of your experience, videography, artistic touches, etc. The ideal videographer is one who can capture smiles on faces, action shots, take video of kids, etc. Diversity makes us stronger.

Community Educators are volunteer speakers who help provide education and expand the reach of Alzheimer's Association programs. Community Educators deliver Alzheimer's Association in person on topics related to Alzheimer's disease and other dementia using prepared materials. 

These volunteers are trained to provide programs scheduled by Association staff and help identify potential community partners and education venues using their established community networks. Community educators assure that the general public, caregivers and people living with Alzheimer's or dementia are linked to Alzheimer's Association programs and our free 24/7 Helpline.  We need English and Bilingual volunteers!

We ask for a one year commitment once you're trained and have completed a background check. 

On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, one of our PM Drivers arrives at our storage unit near the Monterey Airport around 11:00-11:30 am depending on the day.  (The AM Driver will have brought the van back around 10:30 loaded with donated food.) The PM Driver loads as much more donated food and other necessities as will fit from the shelves of the storage unit into the van, including five 25-pound bags each of dry beans and rice. The Driver then pulls out the cargo van, and puts the personal car in the storage unit. The van is then driven to a distribution site in either East Salinas or Greenfield, depending on the day.  Depending on the day, the PM Driver may also need to help unload the van at the destination. When the van is empty, the PM Driver then takes the van back to the storage unit, opens the van doors and windows, collects the personal car. Between 1 and 2 pm depending on the destination, the PM Driver is finished for the day, knowing that some critical needs of many farm worker families have been met, and the van is ready to collect more food.  

On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, one of our AM Drivers arrives at our storage unit near the Monterey Airport around between 7:45 and 8:30 am depending on the day. The Driver pulls out the cargo van, and puts the personal car in the storage unit. The van is then driven to the Carmel Safeway and/or Trader Joe's in Pacific Grove, depending on the day. At the stores, with the help of Loaders who meet the Driver there, all donated food is weighed, logged and loaded into the van. The Driver then takes the van back to the storage unit, opens the van doors and windows, collects the personal car. By about 10:30 am, the AM Driver is finished for the day, knowing the food collected that morning will be delivered to hungry farm worker families that same afternoon. 

Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley

We need volunteers for routes throughout the Salinas Valley on delivery days - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of every week between 9:30am - 12:30pm. Deliveries are made in Salinas on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Wednesday deliveries are made in North Monterey County and South Monterey County. We will work with your availability - choose one day per week or more, depending on your flexibility.

We also need substitute drivers who are called in as needed and do not have a regular route.  A few hours of delivering meals can make quite a difference in the life of a homebound senior citizen. Our volunteers are often the only regular contact these seniors have on a regular basis. Providing meals to older adults in need is MOWSV specialty  - we need help in Greenfield and King City!

Volunteers are asked to serve meals at two (2) congregate meal sites up to five (5) days a week - Monday thru Friday - between 11:30am-1:30pm.

The number of weekly shifts you can volunteer for is flexible with your schedule. If you are available for only one day per week, that's OK! We can use any volunteers who are looking for a regular and consistent place to volunteer their time.

Meals on Wheels Salinas Valley has been a leader in tackling senior food insecurity in Monterey County for over 50 years.

Join them as they embark on addressing one of the most pressing issues faced as an older adult: isolation and loneliness.

ConnectShine is a free social connection program dedicated to clients of the Home Delivered Meals program of Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley.

As a ConnectShine volunteer, you will receive firsthand experience making an impact on senior lives in the Salinas Valley, one call at a time. Make meaningful connections with homebound seniors while refortifying your social skills!

MEarth will need help in with their 1-acre organic edible garden with all general garden maintenance. (weeding, planting, plant starts, etc.)

MST Navigators work side-by-side with MST staff in promoting mobility for individuals with travel challenges because increased mobility means increased independence and quality of life.

Navigators can be assigned to community centers, or outreach events to provide assistance in promoting MST services and mobility programs to the public.  Also, Navigators can assist staff in travel training activities, where they may be assigned as a Travel Companion also known as a " Bus Buddy" to travel with individuals who completed the travel training program.

Drive your own car for ITN Monterey County customers (seniors and people with visual impairment) to and/or from various locations so they can take care of their medical and healthcare needs, grocery and pharmacy shopping, social and recreational activities, and visits with friends and family.

Time and Location

The time commitment is completely flexible. You drive at your convenience, just tell us when you are available. You don't wait with the customer unless it's for a short time, usually 15-20 minutes.

Rides will be in and around the area in which you live, work, or are willing to drive.

Did you know falls are the #1 cause of fatal and non-fatal injuries for seniors? And did you know that many falls could be prevented? 

Help seniors learn fall prevention tips by co-facilitating workshops designed to help seniors prevent fall and reduce the fear of falling! 

Monterey Bay RSVP, in collaboration with A Matter of Balance, the award winning falls prevention program for senior adults, is recruiting volunteer coaches to help keep our senior community safe. Falls are a serious concern. This program has proven to be effective in raising awareness about fall-related injuries, emphasizing practical strategies to help reduce the fear of falling, increasing activity levels in seniors, and decreasing the incidence of falls.

Alliance on Aging is looking for Nursing Home Advocates! Throughout the year, Alliance on Aging makes unannounced visits to nursing homes & 'Board & Care' homes as 'we serve as the ears & eyes of those residing in care facilities'. In doing so, we have conversations with the Residents about their satisfaction with their living environment, attention to safety, quality of care and meals. By volunteering to serve as one of our California State Certified Ombudsman, you can contribute to this vital service.  We provide all the necessary training and ongoing support.  This is gratifying work and an invaluable way to give back to older adults in our community! 

Combination of in-person and Zoom training (hybrid) will be provided. Flexible volunteer hours, at least 6 hours a month required!

Volunteer mediators will have the opportunity to work directly with first time juvenile offenders (minors under the age of 18 who receive a citation from the police), victims and their families to come together in mediation to "make things as right as possible."

Hey there! We have a fluffy bunch of 20+ rabbits at our adoption center, and we could really use some help keeping their space clean and cozy.

Our adoption center is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm, and we usually start cleaning at 8 am on those days.

A large portion of this work can be done from home, but we are looking for a volunteer who is available during business hours 8 am- 5 pm.

We are seeking volunteers who can support the English Second Language (ESL) teacher by assisting with lesson planning and teaching. This is an opportunity to be creative, take real leadership, and build strong relationships.

English classes are held three nights weekly, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm at the Monterey Peace and Justice Center in Seaside. Students vary in their level of English proficiency, however, most students have a basic English level.  Spanish is the predominant native language for most of our students.

We currently have two instructors.  They will train the volunteer teaching assistants.  Both embrace a teaching method that supports the community, helping individuals gain the skills and confidence to advocate for their own economic, social, and political mobility.

In the classroom, both teachers find common interests and needs among the students. They offer students a casual setting for learning and they strive to transcend their differences and find moments of connection, laughter, and kindness.

Volunteers must be available to assist with at least one class each week on one of the scheduled days: Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm.

Since 2013, Citizens for Sustainable Marina (C4SM) has been leading a Coast Live Oak Woodland Restoration Project outside the front of the Marina Library. Volunteers are always needed and these work parties are a great way to learn about the local native flora, see songbirds, and rub shoulders with Marina residents while improving our natural environment. Activities may include removing non-native weeds, planting and watering native plants, trees and shrubs, collecting seed, spreading mulch, installing wind screens around oak trees, and having fun!

These volunteers serve as liaisons between the Association and local groups such as neighborhoods, rural counties, business and civic organizations or faith communities. Community Representatives share information about Alzheimer's disease, free resources offered through the Alzheimer's Association, and the many ways to join our cause. We will train you so you are informed about who we are and the services we offer.

We will ask you to attend health fairs or other outreach opportunities and staff our information table. You will give out info and giveaway items and answer questions/refer people to the helpline or chapter office. There will be about one opportunity per month and you can always say no if for any reason you can't make it. We also have some fun opportunities especially for Spanish speaking volunteers!

The Refurbishing Technician performs computer refurbishing for LFC. Event Helpers will carry out a variety of tasks needed to keep events running smoothly! This is an ongoing opportunity to support and bring joy to your neighbors in their toughest time.  

GFW is looking for someone to support our clothes closet crew. The Clothing Transport role is critical to our clothes closet. We are well loved by our community and want to spread the love to other like-minded organizations. This role involves picking up donated items which are beyond our capacity and delivering them to other organizations. Note that some of it is heavy to lift. You will need an SUV, truck or Van or you can use our van if you have a clean driving record. Pick your day of the week!

GFW is looking for someone to support our kitchen crew. The Food Transport role is critical to our nutritious food service and includes pick-up from the Food Bank and Smart and Final. Note that some of it is heavy to lift. You will need an SUV or Van or you can use our van if you have a clean driving record. We need someone Monday and Friday mornings for Smart and Final and Tuesday mornings for the Food Bank.  Maximum time commitment two hours. 

Our ideal GFW Stylist loves to create the perfect ensemble from lightly loved clothes, jewelry and jackets donated by our local community. You find joy in ensuring other women look their very best. Various shifts are available Monday through Thursday. 

To become a regular GFW volunteer you are required to complete a Volunteer Application and Live Scan (fingerprinting). During COVID, we also require proof of vaccinations and that you wear a mask in congregate areas.
