Sustainable Seaside is organizing Seaside's 15th Annual Earth Day Celebration on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 1 pm to 4 pm at Laguna Grande Regional Park, Lakeside, 1249 Canyon Del Rey Blvd., Seaside, CA.
Volunteer help is needed from 10 am (set up) through 4:30 (clean up). Shifts are flexible. Lunch will be provided. The following tasks are needed:
· Arrange the tables and chairs on the City Hall lawn for the vendors’ information booths.
· Check-in volunteers as they arrive and assign tasks from a list provided.
· Greet vendors and help them unload their tabling materials, find their info booth (table), and set up their pop-up tent (if they have one)
· Circulate among the event participants and make sure each visitor gets one ticket for the free raffle. Provide information about the raffle (prizes, drawing times, etc.)
· Set up and monitor the water bottle refilling station. Refill the water dispenser as needed.
· Monitor waste, i.e., proper disposal of compost, trash, and recycled items. Help people place waste in the proper bins (trash, recycle, or compost)
· Assist the organizers with miscellaneous tasks such as setting up the performance stage and audio.
· Help set up the children’s art table – butcher paper and markers. Encourage children to be creative.
· Supervise the children’s art table for a one-hour shift.
· Help take down and clean up after the event.
· Take photos of the event.
· Count the number of visitors to the event.
Free activities are planned all afternoon with hands-on fun activities for people of all ages. Other activities include over twenty information booths, live music by Palenke Arts’ Danza Mexika and AfroCaribbean Drummers. Old computers and printers can be dropped off at our e-Waste collection station. Everyone gets a chance to win eco-friendly items in the free raffle. Drawings are at 2 pm and 3 pm.
The event will be held at Laguna Grande Park, Lakeside, 1249 Canyon Del Rey Blvd., Seaside, CA.
