As a transportation volunteer, you will be responsible for traveling within our service area to transport blood products and supplies to and from mobile blood drives, hospitals, and donation centers. Your assistance will ensure the timely distribution of blood products and supplies, which is crucial for saving lives.
Role Description:
- Deliver products and supplies to and from Vitalant facilities and hospitals within the community.
- Pick up collected blood products from Vitalant Mobile Blood Drives in nearby communities and deliver them to the Vitalant facility for processing.
- Deliver supplies to Vitalant’s satellite centers or blood drives.
- Provide excellent customer service to our communities’ hospitals and their employees.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 19 years of age.
- Must pass a Motor Vehicle Report check.
- Should be able to lift at least 40 lbs. (assistive devices are available such as carts and dollies).
- Must be able to follow directions (familiar with hands-free navigation).
- Reliability is a must.

- Role-specific Transport Volunteer Training
- Ride-along with a currently trained volunteer
- Facility Tour
- Vitalant Company Vehicle Training
