Loaves, Fishes, and Computers is currently looking for dedicated individuals to help us create lasting change for local low-income individuals, families, and volunteers in our community.
By joining our Board of Directors, you will play a vital leadership role helping to shape LFC’s vision, mission, and direction for years to come. With a small group of other devoted volunteers, you will participate in developing and implementing organizational policies, fundraising and donor development, financial oversight, and community engagement. During your first 2 years on our board, you will also have the chance to take the lead in one or more nonprofit committees with goals related to program development and delivery, outreach and organizational development, or financial oversight.

We are seeking board members who:

• Have the will and the time to devote to building and enriching the organization.

Some LFC Board of Directors key commitments and duties include:
• Providing pre-meeting review of LFC Board of Director meeting agendas and participating in monthly LFC BoD meetings — these are usually held on the 3rd Wednesday of the month, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at LFC Headquarters at 938 South Main St., Salinas.
• Participating in additional Board or Committee meetings as needed.
• Helping to establish policies and monitor legal compliance.
• Helping to raise funds for operations and additional staff.
• Building strong relationships with individuals, businesses, and other nonprofits in the community.
• Board Membership is a Two-Year initial term of commitment.

We are looking to develop capacity in all board skill areas and demographics, including:
• Social entrepreneurship, particularly engaging with our local communities.
• Finance and accounting, especially experience related to non-profit accounting.
• IT expertise, particularly with a background in education, human services or business.
• Experience in fundraising, marketing, and outreach, including community organizing.
• People of ALL backgrounds are encouraged to apply!
