Who We Are

Our Mission

The Big Sur Food & Wine Festival started as a way to showcase the many culinary and wine-making talents of this special stretch of California coast. Since then, it has become so much more. From the talented individuals who pour their heart into this event, to the charitable sponsors who’s generous spirit we could not do without, and finally to the community that we support with all of our hearts. The Big Sur Food & Wine Festival is a special experience that expands way beyond what we could have ever imagined.

When you come to BSFW you can expect only the best in regional and nationally acclaimed chefs and winemakers in the intimate backdrop of the beautiful Big Sur coast.

The Big Sur Food & Wine Festival is a project of the Big Sur Food & Wine Foundation, a 501c-3 non profit charitable trust created to be a vehicle of support to the Big Sur community. Its intention is to stimulate the local economy and donate event proceeds to support local nonprofits that benefit Health, Safety, Education and The Arts.

What We Do

In 2023 The Big Sur Food & Wine Foundation held their three flagship events: The Big Sur Food & Wine Festival, The Big Sur Fashion Show and The Ferrari Event at The Barnyard. In addition the committee helped produce two pop-up dinners in the spring with world-renowned German winemakers. With the growing number of sponsors, auction donors, participating chefs & winemakers and volunteers each year, we have partnered with passionate individuals who truly care about this community. The Foundation has become one of the strongest supporters of the Palo Colorado, Big Sur and South Coast communities, and continues its commitment to its own sustainability as an all-volunteer organization.  Thank you to everyone who makes this possible.

We also focused on cross-promoting our wonderful partners and vendors. This year we tried to spread more awareness on the non-profit status of our festival and inspire more donations and financial support for the community. We succeeded in this effort as we had the most profitable auction event yet, and we had new organizations within Big Sur apply to become beneficiaries.

Speaking of partners/vendors, we had more interest than ever before from wineries, chefs, venues, purveyors and our volunteers and we cannot thank you enough for your help and talents. Please remember to head to our Sponsor Page to visit some of these wonderful businesses or to make a year end donation of your own!
