Who We Are

California State Parks, Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds.

What We Do

Asilomar State Beach & Conference Grounds is a National Historic Landmark established in 1913 as the YWCA's first permanent camp and conference grounds -- the first such operation to be owned and operated by women. The earliest buildings at Asilomar were designed and built by Julia Morgan, the first licensed female architect in CA. Asilomar's grounds include the most successful dune restoration project in the US and encompasses a mile of rocky shore teeming with intertidal life. We interpret these incredible resources for the public through tours and other programs.
