Objective: Create and maintain a welcoming and educational green space for students attending Mae C. Johnson Education and Cultural Enrichment Academy.
Duties:
- Determine when corrective action is needed to improve health, vigor and appearance of plants by fertilizing, pruning, transplanting, pest control, etc.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date record on work performed while ensuring garden is cared for on a consistent schedule
- Possible duties include, but are not limited to: raking, weeding, shearing, edging, and hand pruning
- Lead and instruct the students in activities to maintain and care for the garden

- Compassion for enriching the lives of underserved students
- Excellent verbal communication skills to clearly explain expertise concepts, provide instructions and deliver feedback
- Regular and reliable attendance

Hours: 2 hour shift during open hours 1pm-6p; 1-2 times per week
