As a transportation volunteer, your role involves traversing our service areas to ensure the prompt delivery of blood products and supplies between mobile blood drives, hospitals, and donation centers. Your commitment is crucial for the timely distribution of these items, which are essential for saving lives.
Volunteer Role Description
- Transport products and supplies to and from Vitalant facilities and community hospitals
- Retrieve blood products from Vitalant Mobile Blood Drives in neighboring communities and transport them to a Vitalant facility for processing.
- Distribute supplies to Vitalant satellite centers or blood drives.
- Offer outstanding customer service to the hospitals in our communities and their staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 19 years.
- Successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report check.
- Ability to lift at least 40 lbs. (with the availability of assistive devices like carts and dollies).
- Capable of following directions (must be comfortable with hands-free navigation).
- Dependability.
Required Training
- Specific training for the Transport Volunteer role.
- Accompanying a trained volunteer for a ride-along.
- Tour of the facility.
- Training for the use of Vitalant Company Vehicles.
